3 Ways to Study Biblical Justice

We all have different talents, different opportunities, and different callings. With that in mind, choose the justice study plan that is right for you in this season of your life.

After that, subscribe to the Justice Year newsletter. Our weekly fit is a perfect complement to any plan that you choose.

1. The Berean Plan - Know Justice

You want to know God's heart on justice straight from his word, not from politicians or current culture, or even just from your church.

Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.

Acts 17:11 NIV

The Berean plan will give you the basis for God's view of restorative justice, introduce you to key themes without bogging you down in theology, and takes about 2 months to complete. At the end of this plan you'll have a new or renewed sense of God's heart for the vulnerable in this world.

2. The Lydia Plan - Teach Justice

You serve a small group, or people look to you for guidance, so you want to make sure your teaching and actions align correctly with God's view of justice.

One of those listening was a woman from the city of Thyatira named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth. She was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul’s message. When she and the members of her household were baptized, she invited us to her home.

Acts 16:14-15a

The Lydia plan is a full year of study where you will drink deep from the commands and examples of God's justice, from Eden to the prophets, to Jesus and the early church. You'll become equipped to teach others what it means to "do justice" and start or join a justice program in your community.

3. The Apollos Plan - Defend Justice

You want to be equipped to teach and live justice, and defend God's vision of justice from distorted views

[Apollos] was a learned man, with a thorough knowledge of the Scriptures....He began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they invited him to their home and explained to him the way of God more adequately...he vigorously refuted his Jewish opponents in public debate, proving from the Scriptures that Jesus was the Messiah.

Acts 18:24-28

The Apollos plan will help you to correct misconceptions, and overcome objections about doing justice, and train leaders on what God's word says about how to treat the marginalized in our society.
